Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (Marvel Edition) — the 10W only happens at 9V
Magnetic car chargers all look the same in product photos: a black puck, a phone snapping onto it, a tidy dashboard. What the photos never show is the number on the back of the unit.
This is the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger, Marvel Avengers edition, model WIC004. The box promises up to 10W. The label on the back tells a more complicated story.
This is an unboxing and a close look at the markings, photographed on 9 April 2025. Charging speed was not measured — everything numeric here is the manufacturer’s own printing.
The box — and the line you should read first

The front is straightforward: MagSafe compatible, 10W, Fast wireless charging,
Seamless set-and-drive experience, and a compatibility list of iPhone 14 / 13 / 12 models.
Then, in small grey type in the corner:
Requires 18W Power Delivery 3.0 car power supply to charge up to 10W (not included)
That sentence is the whole review in one line. Hold onto it.

The back repeats the pitch in English and Japanese:
| Claim on the box | |
|---|---|
| Magnetic attachment | Keeps your iPhone secure while driving |
| Fast wireless charging | Up to 10W |
| Easy one-handed phone placement | — |
| Rotate to view in any orientation | 360° |
The packaging is 100% plastic-free — paper tray, paper sleeve, no blister.
The label on the back — where 10W becomes 5W

This is the part worth photographing in the shop. Moulded into the back of the puck:
BOOST↑CHARGE™ Magnetic Wireless Car Charger
Input: 5.0V ⎓ 3.0A Output: 5.0W
Input: 9.0V ⎓ 2.22A Output: 10.0W, 7.5W, 5.0W
Model: WIC004 FCC ID: K7SWIC004 IC: 3623A-WIC004
Made in Vietnam
Read those two input lines again.
- Feed it 5V — which is what a plain USB car socket gives you — and the output is 5.0W. Full stop.
- Feed it 9V, which needs a USB-C PD adapter capable of 9V (that is what “18W PD 3.0” means), and you unlock 10W.
So “up to 10W” is true, and it is also conditional on a part that is not in the box. If you plug this into whatever old adapter is in the glovebox, you will get half the advertised speed and no error message telling you why.
Certification marks on the label: FCC, IC, KC (R-R-K7S-WIC004), UKCA, EAC, NOM/NYCE, R-NZ.
Belkin B.V. in Amsterdam and Belkin Ltd. in the UK are listed as the responsible entities.
What is actually in the box

Three things, and one of them is paper.
- The charger, with a USB-C cable permanently attached
- The air vent clip
- Manual and regulatory leaflets
No power adapter, as established. The cable being captive is a design decision with two sides: you cannot lose it or use the wrong one, but you also cannot replace it if it fails, and you cannot choose its length.
The face — the reason this version exists

The charging surface is a soft-touch black oval with the Avengers “A” in red and a MARVEL
block underneath.
Worth looking closely: the “A” is not a flat shape. It is built out of dozens of tiny character silhouettes — you can pick out Captain America’s shield, a figure mid-punch, Thor’s hammer. It is a nicer piece of printing than the product photos suggest.
Functionally it changes nothing. It is the same puck as the plain black version with a different surface print.
The mount — vent clip and ball joint

The clip pushes onto a ball joint on the back of the puck. That joint is what delivers the “rotate to any orientation” claim — you can swing the phone from portrait to landscape without touching the clip.
It is a vent mount only. There is no adhesive dashboard disc or suction option in the box. If your car’s vents are the thin horizontal type, or they sit low and out of sight, check before buying.
On the phone, and in the car

With a clear case on, the magnet grabs from about a centimetre away and self-centres. This is the part that genuinely improves daily driving: you do not have to look at it. You bring the phone near the puck and let go.

Mounted on the vent, the phone sits high enough to glance at without dropping your eyes far from the road. The attached cable runs down toward the centre console.
Before you buy
Check what your car adapter can do. Not “how many watts” — what voltages. It needs 9V output to reach 10W here. A 12W or 5V-only adapter caps you at 5W.
Check your vents. Round or thick horizontal slats work best with a clip like this. Very thin blades or vents that sit below the dashboard line are a problem.
Wireless is slower than a cable, always. 10W is fine for topping up on a commute. It is not enough to recover a nearly-dead phone on a short drive while running navigation.
Not tested here
- Actual charging speed, measured
- Heat build-up on a long summer drive
- Whether the magnet holds over rough road surfaces
- Grip strength with thicker or non-magnetic cases
- Price and where it was bought
FAQ
Is a power adapter included?
No. The box says Requires 18W Power Delivery 3.0 car power supply … (not included).
Will it really do 10W? Only from a 9V supply. The label lists 5.0W output when the input is 5V.
Does it work with Android phones? The box lists iPhone 14 / 13 / 12. Any Qi phone should charge, but Android phones generally lack the built-in magnet ring, so you would need a magnetic case or ring.
Can I replace the cable? No — it is permanently attached to the charger.
Does the Marvel version charge differently?
No. Same model number, WIC004. The difference is the printed face.
